Privacy
runthesim.app is a static site with minimal data collection. This page lists exactly what gets stored, where, and for how long.
Summary
runthesim.app does not set tracking cookies. It does not profile visitors. It does not sell any user data.
What the site collects: aggregate server logs from the hosting provider (Netlify), and — once wired — a newsletter email address if you subscribe. Nothing else.
Hosting logs
The site is hosted on Netlify. Netlify keeps standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security and operational purposes. These logs are retained according to Netlify's own policy and are not used by RunTheSim for analytics or profiling.
Simulations and parameters
Simulations run entirely in your browser. Parameters you change, presets you select, and any interaction with the controls stays in your browser session — it is never sent back to any server.
Newsletter
The newsletter signup is currently UI-only. No email addresses are stored yet. Once a provider is wired (candidates: Buttondown, ConvertKit, Mailchimp), this section will name the provider, where they store data, and how to unsubscribe. Until then, submitting the form does nothing.
Email contact
If you email hello@runthesim.app, your email address and the message content are stored in the inbox for as long as the thread is relevant. You can request deletion at any time by replying to any past message with the word "delete".
Third-party links
Links to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other external platforms open on those platforms. Their own privacy policies apply as soon as you follow the link. RunTheSim does not receive information about whether you clicked such a link.
Your rights
You have the right to know what personal data is stored about you, to request corrections, and to request deletion. Send any such request to hello@runthesim.app.
This site operates under Swiss data-protection law (nDSG / revFADP).
Changes to this policy
This policy is versioned. The current version is v1.0 (2026-04-19). Substantive changes will bump the version and the effective date. If the change is material, it will be announced via the newsletter once that channel is live.
